Rubar ("we", "our", or "the app") is a city tourism guide that helps you discover cities and explore tourist spots. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.
Information We Collect
Location Data
When you grant permission, the app accesses your device's location to show nearby tourist spots on the map. Your location is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers. Location data is temporarily cached on your device for up to 5 minutes to improve performance.
Usage Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymous usage data such as which screens are viewed, session duration, and general interaction patterns. This data does not identify you personally and is used solely to improve the app experience.
Crash Reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google) to collect crash reports when the app encounters an error. These reports include device model, operating system version, and the technical details of the crash. They do not contain personal information.
Locally Stored Data
The app stores the following data on your device:
- Your favorite tourist spots (saved as spot identifiers)
- Your language preference (English, Arabic, Kurdish, or system default)
- Cached city and spot data for offline access
This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Information We Do Not Collect
Rubar does not require an account to use. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal contact information. The app is designed to be fully anonymous.
Third Party Services
The app uses the following third party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Data Retention
Locally stored data (favorites, language preference, cached content) remains on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Analytics and crash data retained by Firebase follows Google's standard retention policies.
Data Security
All network communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. Locally stored data is protected by your device's built in security mechanisms.
Children's Privacy
Rubar is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect personal information from any user, there is no specific risk to children's data.
